I came out to my mom when I was 16. My parents are old school. They are immigrant parents, and when I came out, it didn't land well to say the least. And I quickly went back into the proverbial closet, if I may, and it was really hard.

Coming from a working-class family, not having a lot of money, it's hard to get into politics because it's known for being for young people who come from financial wealth. So, I primarily ran up credit cards.
